Having looked it up, I wouldn't mind a taste of the sausage. But, the local way of consuming the filling without the skin, cut off each end then suck it out... Looking forward to further posts about the trip. Enjoy your work, old sausage!

Never tried the famous sausage curry when in Germany or white sausages! Maybe when we visit again one day we might be tempted. Enjoying your Munich news and weather looks great as it has been here too.

Curried sausage is a North German thing. Weißwurst a south (Bavarian) German thing.

I’m sure there is a school of thought the Raubal was shot by Hitler himself. Probably in a fit of rage and jealousy. Or did I make that up? Anyhoo…! Enjoy guys. 👍🏽

Looks fantastic! I used to live in Starnberg (although born in Kiel) and never escaped the sense that Bavaria saw itself as a separate Germany within Germany. I think somewhat linked to a strong identity and certainly a historical context.

Having said that, sausages provided enough of a national unifying bridge!

I just did the same. It actually sounds quite nice, in an artery hardening kind of way.

I was given Weißwurst 20 years ago by a German friend. Apparently they should only be eaten before midday. I haven't had one since. They weren't bad, but they do look like drowned sailors' appendages.
