I'm Nigel Guy Bellair's grand daughter. He had two children with my grandmother, and as far as I'm aware, didn't emigrate to South Africa, though I think his brother did. He stayed in France and died in Biarritz in the early 80s.
Section viii (MI6). Working in the Embassy and in SLU (Special Liaison Units - a Morris C8 Truck with wireless radios) Transmitting and receiving ULTRA for Monty. Will post pics.
Fascinating story. I must confess that when I first skimmed through the piece, I mid-read the part about Foxhole in Cairo, and thought it was Yvette Fielding that starred in it! That works have made for an altogether different movie!
Quite the line to pop into one's report: "I therefore decided to kidnap Hauer" - as if it was the inescapable and natural consequence of all that went before.

C'mon. We've all been there.
Fascinating story. These webs of intrigue must take a fair amount of disentangling!
Truth may not be stranger than fiction in this case but it is certainly more interesting!
